March Brain Awareness month: I would invite you to listen to people who entered what is sometimes called a “Silent Epidemic” so often regarded by your family with denial. There are others who understand. Search this site for articles relating to traumatic brain injury. My path was closer to Aisling although I was 32. A hurdle caused injury when I was going over a jump and thrown from the horse. I too can’t recall. Reaction: a husband who turned to other women; then it was he was in love with one who became pregnant. I am not bitter but I will never understand why I had to go through an acrimonious divorce while the Church granted them an annulment casting shame on me for having a TBI. Thankfully I have survived 30 years and life is good

GZERO, Ian Bremmer. Could Europe support Ukraine alone?

Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

Food, Energy, Climate are beyond choice, people are needy and some have while others strarve. Already 54 wars in the world, the highest ever, commercial markets are gone awry. The EU member farmers are feeling the impact, but not to the extent of the war torn countries of Sudan, Ethiopia (facing starvation), the Congo, Gaza, Yemen, and so many more. Ukraine which is being obliterated by the Russian invasion of two years ago now, has the potential of being breadbasket of Europe and yet it is being (which means farms in Europe will have to face more competititve prices and this is already impacting as farmers gather in protest). We can see the standard of our important vegetable and fruit supplies hindered. We need peace negotiations and then commodities will have the freedom to trade on free market principles.

https://www.aljazeera.com/program/counting-the-cost/2024/2/28/farmers-are-in-revolt-will-governments-heed-their-demands Farmers are in revolt, will governments heed their demands? Farmers in different parts of the world are protesting against economic and climate policies. They came in convoys of tractors, loaded with fruits and vegetables. Thousands of farmers around the … Continue reading →

2023 listen to common sense lecture by 80 year old Bernie Sanders who addresses the Oxford Union. There are facts about life and economic freedom that we must engage with. 60% of American citizens are living paycheck to paycheck, 500,000 people go bankrupt each year because they are not able, for financial reasons, to pay their health bills; addiction is rife, 100,000 people died from overdose in the year 2022. The reality is that people are living in an epidemic of “Diseases of Despair” and sheer loneliness, and people are dying earlier than they should. People talk about Equality but do you know that those on the top of the pyramid never had it so good? They are wealthier than at any other time in history. I highly recommend this address.
