BBC News: Royal estates ‘receive millions from public bodies and charities’. Comment: Charities buoy up the state provision of services but being exempt from tax they are adding to their own wealth. Charities are essential but Governance is equally important. The extent of spread is immense in relation to the Royal Family as seen from this piece from below “Their contracts with public bodies are said to include a £37 million agreement between the Duchy of Cornwall and the Ministry of Justice to lease Dartmoor Prison, and a £11.4 million deal between Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Trust and the Duchy of Lancaster to rent a London warehouse over 15 years.”
