A man, a husband, a father, who speaks fondly of his family … I remember being one of those who had to leave Ireland in the 1980’s and flights to and from Luton via Ryanair were cheap and available and became a miracle for 1980’s emigrants and also for those who had emigrated earlier and who could not afford Aer Lingus fares, Aer Lingus was a monopoly.

Too many people are acting as privateers; in another century these would be greedy landlords, and are making money off the backs of others, who are not paying for their keep, but our Government is doing the paying and the elite cabal of privateers elevate themselves to positions of power and influence. A homeless man talked about these privateers in Gardiner Street, their bunk beds with many in each room, the loss of Peter McVerry and Salvation Army and their sense of humanity. The privateers have security guards only.
