Letters written to friends about life in Zimbabwe; Family history including Michael Comyn KC, my grandfather, my grandmother's family, the O'Donnellan ffrench Blake-Forsters; Moral wrong: An acrimonious divorce but the real injustice was the Catholic Church granting an annulment – you can read it and make your own judgment, I have mine. Comment: 30+ years ago I sustained TBI from horse fall in Zimbabwe, I wholly endorse the wisdom set out below; and agree with what is written. Of particular significance to me is “An interesting concept related to dementia risk is that of “cognitive reserve.” “Cognitive reserve refers to the brain’s ability to compensate for damage by utilizing existing cognitive processes or recruiting new ones. People with a higher cognitive reserve — often developed through education, mental stimulation, and social engagement — are thought to be more resilient to the effects of brain injury and neurodegenerative diseases.”. Why? Memory is shot, it is trying to catch hold of a little bit of something somewhere in the back of the head and hope that I can attach it and gain a little hope of potential memory.
