MEDICAL OFFICER’S REPORT.
The medical officer reported as follows for the week ending April 29. Number of patients under treatment in hospital, 170; number of patients under treatment not in hospital, 55; total number under treatment, 225. One death had occurred during the week, viz, William Dudley Persse, native of Galway, Ireland, aged 64 years; died on the 26th inst., of progressive paralysis; in residence one year and four months.[8]

TOWN NEWS.
At the last meeting of the managing committee of the Benevolent Asylum, the medical officer reported the death of an inmate named William Dudley Persse, who was a graduate of Trinity College, Dublin, and in bygone days had driven his carriage through the Irish metropolis.[9] [10]
