Quora daily sends me IQ messages. TBI and memory amnesia et al make it impossible to understand, other than in the moment of reading, what impairments you have. This explains exactly what neuropsycholigist will tell a person who has sustained TBI (following hours of tests) but as I say you have no room in the head to carry this for reference. What you have as a person with TBI is a “sheet of wind upon a window pane” … The article is about being part of 2% of population with an IQ of 140-145.

I have an IQ of 140-145. What does it mean?

As a professional who administered, scored and interpreted more than 1000 IQ tests during my career, an IQ in the range of 140–145 means that you are functioning in the upper 2% of the population. You will have some cognitive skills that are somewhat stronger than others, but you’ll have less trouble remembering what you’ve learned and using that knowledge, in combination with other previously learned facts, to solve problems. You will most likely be able to conceptualize ideas, and apply logic and reasoning to solve a novel or unfamiliar problem. Associating like things, analysis of unfamiliar things, and recognizing patterns will be easier for you than most. Learning will come easier to you than for the intellectually average.

You’ll grasp concepts much quicker than those two numb nuts who answered this question earlier – incorrectly, I might add. Memory is only one component of IQ, but without a good short-term and long-term memory, you couldn’t have achieved this score. So, it’s an important factor.

From their responses, it’s clear that they felt threatened by your performance, so found it necessary to demean you, in order to superficially elevate themselves. Unfortunately for them, all they achieved is to showcase their own shortcomings and petty natures.

An IQ of 140–145+ is in the gifted range, but don’t let it go to your head. Remember that it’s worthless unless you put it to good use, preferably by helping others or improving life for mankind. Good luck.
