“Book Deserts”. Excellent informative talk about what we all know if we dig deep into our hearts. There are people, children who just don’t have access to books. Inequality is bred in this. These days since people record for television and YouTube from their homes, one thing we immediately see is their selection of books. Everyone should have access. Carnegie over 100 years ago started with libraries all over the world, including Ireland. For people with mental illness, a much hidden secret is the power of the book (Bibliotherapy). Traumatic brain injury and amnesia – I learned to accept that the minute I read it is for the forgotten box but carry on what you gain over the decades is what they call “cognitive reserve”.
