Oxford Major Trauma Centre: How to assess post-traumatic amnesia (PTA) in patients with traumatic brain injury. Comment: Dr Alice Murnane was able to explain this to my mum ie contra-coups as explained in third video. Neuropsychologist (Martina McEnroe O’Connor) findings 1994 – executive function identified. Risk: poor identification is very interesting and relevant to me. This video deserves more attention. The explanations are profound. “It can be really like dealing with a child aged 5”. Many of these people end up “Custodial” and eventually in a care home. Please note that many people with this damage can end up in prison. There is a loss to anticipate risks. Includes difficulties with speech. There is what is called “Poverty of Speech” … I hate this dimension. Perservation ie to repeat a behaviour over and over is yet another dimension. Recommend Diffuse Axonal Injury (DAI). NB people with TBI: “Our brains age faster”. A little hope over the next 40 years in the area of stem cells worth thinking about.

TBI 1994: Lifelong learning, the computer, internet, social media and yes I reached Dr Adam Zeman, Exeter University. Below is a podcast that describes the impact of a TBI in my case. Imagine I went through ECT so maybe if I had known about Aphantasia, there may have been another option (this was 1998 afterall). I can’t get the podcast “Think of a Horse – The Doc Project” but if you are interested it really is worth listening too. The power of virtual community has real stake in the world too. I have one difference not mentioned in this podcast and that is I can return to the images pre accident/especially childhood ie a fall from a horse, which makes this an appropriate title for me especially.

The Doc Project Think of a Horse6:0728:59 Think of a Horse Close your eyes and imagine a horse. What do you see? Statistically, you can probably picture the horse in your mind. The colour, the flowing tail. Tom Ebeyer can’t … Continue reading

AL JAZEERA: How US Big Tech supports Israel’s AI-powered genocide and apartheid. Comment: Apathy is an option but knowledge is no load and people need to be informed. People need to think about what is happening and the name “Digital Colonialism” tells us what we know from history. Quote from article: “American Empire”. “Big Tech corporations are modern-day East India companies; they are an extension of American imperial power. They colonise the global digital economy and reinforce the divide between the North and the South. As a result, the US profits from the ownership of digital infrastructure and knowledge and the extraction of resources from the Global South.”

Louis Theroux interviewed Intelligence Squared. Highly recommend Louis Theroux; having watched many of his youtube videos, I like the idea of “Diversity in Unity” as John Hume said but we need to engage with “Confronting Conformity.” Sam Altman … just so very ordinary, if you haven’t watched the video on canisgallicus.com, time to learn a little more about where our future is going.
